I started off the walk in the morning at 07:29 and walked the required 22.7km (out of which 0.2km were needed to reach the Aleklätten bus stop at the end of the walk) in 7h45mins. My average speed was thus approximately 2.93km/h. To walk this slow became a general trend for the rest of the Bohusleden walks because after the Skåneleden walks I realized I probably should take more photos and make sure the photos are of better quality in general. I also wanted to take it easy during this walk as I wanted to enjoy it as much as possible. However, as I've previously mentioned in the blog post for Skåneleden Walk #6 between Bjärnum and Åsljunga: I used a too high ISO value during this walk. Thankfully it didn't affect many of the photos as I changed the ISO value to something lower as the weather improved. Also as you can see in the photos, most of the chosen photos don't have this problem (i.e. high ISO noise).
There are many interesting parts in this walk. The walk begins at the Angereds kyrka bus stop in Gunnilse (where I had finished Bohusleden Walk #1 between Kåsjön and Angereds Kyrka). As I mentioned at the end of the blog post for Bohusleden Walk #1 between Kåsjön and Angereds Kyrka, there are a lot of giant hogweeds around here, which you can see in the first two photos in this blog post. Shortly after the start of the walk and until Stora Mölnesjön the trail goes mostly through an open landscape. From Stora Mölnesjön until Jennylund the trail goes through the Vättlefjäll nature reserve (check out the Vättlefjällsleden blog post for more photos from Vättlefjäll) which is very beautiful and has many beautiful forest segments, bogs and lakes. After Jennylund and until Fontin in Kungälv the trail goes through urban terrain, specifically through Jennylund, Bohus and part of Kungälv. Although the part of the walk going through Jennylund and Bohus isn't too interesting there are several interesting things in Kungälv, including Bohus Fästning, Kungälvs Kyrka and an old part of Kungälv (Gamla Torget). This part of the trail also crosses the rivers Göta Älv and Nedre Älv. Between Fontin and Aleklätten the trail goes to some extent through the Fontin open air region and nature reserve. The forests here aren't as beautiful as the forests in Vättlefjäll but nonetheless they are pretty beautiful. Two notable highlights of this part of the walk is the lake Svarte Mosse (which is very beautiful (partially because it has many waterlilies) and is a popular spot for birds) and the Kolebacka croft.
Other than that it can be noted that I had moderate luck with regards to the wildlife as I saw three squirrels (although I've only managed to get good photos of one of the squirrels). Furthermore, the weather was pretty good. I started off the walk in the morning and it was somewhat cold and misty (which created a nice atmosphere) but as the day progressed it got warmer. One thing that wasn't as good was that I got wet shoes (as usual) but it was enough to change my socks once.
Without further ado I present the photos. Enjoy!
1.
There are many giant hogweeds in Gunnilse. As I've previously mentioned: Giant hogweeds can give severe burns that last for years and get worse with sun exposure. Never touch a giant hogweed!
2.
More giant hodgweed (there are many more places in Gunnilse with great amounts of giant hogweed).
